Electrical Connection of your Freestanding Stove

• A Registered Electrician, Service Technician or the holder of a Limited Electrical License are licensed to connect up an electric stove.

• In older homes, the stoves were all ‘directly connected’ and had a long piece of thick electrical cable coming directly from the wall where the stove is to be situated. This is used to connect up the stove to the electrical supply.

• In all new homes; a suitable rated ‘socket’ (socket-outlet) needs to be fitted and the stove is plugged into this socket using a ‘flex and plug’ that is compatible with the socket. (Also applies when this is a new installation in a new/renovated kitchen or if the cable has been cut too short; cable should be disconnected at stove end).

• There are different types of sockets and plugs available. Check with your local electrical wholesaler which one is suitable for your use. These are not supplied with any stove and need to be acquired separately. Generally, we utilize the existing electrical switch gear at your property.

Important Note: It is imperative the correct stove size is requested for delivery to your property. If the stove will not fit into the space available we will have to charge a service call of $80 for time taken to deliver the stove.
